Arogya Parivar, the award winning social enterprise of Novartis India aims to raise health awareness and addresses medical needs of rural population in 11 Indian states and a few countries in south Asia. Our scope was to enable the grassroot level health educators to perform effectively in context to the vision of the program. A needs assessment, followed by development of a customized capacity building module - including a training aid, trainer's guide and a participant guide – was the initial scope. We went on to perform interactive capacity building programs - national training of trainers and then regional trainings - resulting in motivated field workforce with concept clarity on aspects of behaviour change communication, social marketing, storytelling as key concepts.
