Evolution of significant models for public private partnerships

Client Name: Global Health Strategies
Project Name: Mumbai Mission for TB Control
Scale: City Specific
Stakeholders: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai

The need for addressing gaps in the Mumbai TB Control Program, led to the formation of Mumbai Mission for TB Control in 2013. Ever since, we have supported the mission in a strategic approach towards addressing the gaps through engagement of the private sector - media, corporate bodies, industry associations as well as government entities. A gap analysis resulted in broad need areas that needed attention – lack of awareness, prevention of TB, diagnosis, treatment adherence and more; leading to our scope in the demand side – conceptualization of projects for partnership, development of implementation frameworks and selection of NGOs for grassroot roll out, financial analysis & budgets; and supply side - landscaping for potential partnerships, partners for media campaigns and advocacy to raise awareness, partners for improved diagnosis and treatment adherence including nutrition. While these campaigns began as a pilot, they have evolved to become innovation models with a high potential for sustainability and scalability. Our work has been presented and published by the Union Conference on Lung Health both in 2014 and 2016.
